About Club MR2
Club MR2 Philippines came about as a result of several Philippine-based MR2 owners and enthusiasts' desire to establish a common ground with only one simple agenda--The MR2.Before there was Club MR2, owners and enthusiasts in the Philippines had little information and know-how in maintaining and developing Japan's first true mid-engined sports car. Most MR2 owners found this lacuna a very frustrating experience. As a result, they were forced to part ways with what would have been a life long partner and source of joy; only to succumb to the generic pleasure derived from daily drivers. Those whose MR2 ownership prevailed laid the foundations of what would be one of the most revered automobile clubs in the Philippines.Club MR2 simply strives to provide an environment wherein people from all walks of life would be able to meet and discuss their interests and concerns regarding the MR2.Initial gatherings took place at the outskirts of Greenhills, San Juan until it found its nesting grounds at Promenade, Greenhills where the Club's Friday night gatherings are held even up to the present time. Currently, official club members participate in various automobile-oriented activities such as legal drag racing, legal circuit racing, track days, and car shows to name a few. Occasionally, Club MR2 also indulges in safe and spirited cross-city or provincial runs to promote road courtesy and camaraderie.Finally, despite the domestic rarity of parts supply and technical expertise for the MR2, Club MR2 endevours to ease the frustration commonly exhibited by un/misinformed MR2 owners by providing technical assistance to official club members who encounter various MR2 issues.No matter who you are or where you're from, if you own, aspire to own or even simply admire the MR2, you are more than welcome to join this humble Club of passionate car enthusiasts.
